🎯 Hackathon Objectives

This hackathon aims to reinvent the customer experience in the insurance world by exploring the digital tools available to bring insurance closer to individuals—making it more human, more useful, and more intelligent.

In a context where relationships between insurers and policyholders often lack transparency, simplicity, and responsiveness, the theme **"InsurTech – Rethinking the Customer Experience in the Insurance Sector"** invites participants to imagine solutions that fundamentally transform how insurance is experienced on a daily basis.

The goal is not to create new insurance products but to:

- Improve touchpoints between clients and insurers,

- Design smooth and intuitive interfaces,

 - Automate processes without losing the human touch,

- Integrate tools for prevention, personalized tracking, or proactive management of life events (moving, marriage, claims, etc.),

 Restore trust between users and insurance services.

This hackathon is therefore a concrete experimentation space where digital talents are called upon to propose innovative digital services aligned with real community needs and adapted to African realities.

By reimagining the customer experience, participants will help shape the insurance of tomorrow:

✅ more accessible,

✅ more seamless,

✅ more preventive,

✅ more human.


🧩 Organization, Teams & Pitch Phase

The hackathon will take place over three days—July 24, 25, and 26, 2025—in an immersive and collaborative environment.

🔍 Participant Selection

20 passionate individuals from the fields of tech, insurance, and entrepreneurship will be selected based on their technical skills. They will then be divided into 5 teams of 4 people, balanced by area of expertise.

🛠️ Teamwork & Prototyping

Each team will have 48 hours to:

- Understand the needs of insurance users,

- Propose an innovative digital solution,

- Design a functional prototype,

- Develop an implementation strategy.


Participants will benefit from a stimulating environment with:

Collaborative workspaces,

Mentoring sessions with tech and insurance experts,

 Midpoint check-ins with the organizing committee.


🎤 Final Pitch – July 26, 2025

On the final day, each team will present their solution during a 5-minute pitch, followed by a Q\&A session with the jury.

The jury—composed of professionals from the insurance, tech, and entrepreneurship sectors—will evaluate projects based on the following criteria:

- Originality and creativity,

- Technical quality and user-friendliness of the prototype,

-  Real impact on the customer experience,

-  Feasibility and potential for deployment.


🏆 Awards Ceremony

At the end of the presentations, the top three teams will receive prizes and benefit from post-hackathon support to scale their solutions.
